A sixth Sense? David Abram, 6th sense, Zach Dagan

There is much speculation of people experiencing a sense other than the 5 senses, as they call it a sixth sense. There can be many interpretations but the sixth sense can be defined as an extrasensory perception, such as intuition that is beyond the commonly recognized 5 senses. Examples of the sixth sense can range from being able to communicate with the dead, predict certain future events, or just having a greater sense of one's surroundings in the environment.

This is something I really never thought about but I can absolutely see now being a form of a sixth sense. Abram used the example of the Koyukan people explaining how they are very careful when they are talking about other animals that are near. Abram then goes onto explain interpreting and watching the world's gestures hold a much deeper meaning than many believe. When I was younger, I remember always asking my grandfather why we cannot talk and communicate with deer. I forget his exact answer but he would tell me about the Adam and Eve story, how they would communicate with the snake. My grandfather was a major believer in having a deeper connection with animals, as he would tell me stories of him "talking" and whistling in attempt to come to terms with deer he would encounter in the forest. After reading about Abram's section on the Koyukan people, it sparked this memory of my grandfather who very well may have had a sixth sense.

  1. I completely agree that people can have a deeper connection with animals. Animals always seem to know what is best for us. One summer, my dog woke me up in the middle of the night and I thought that she wanted to go to the bathroom, but she went to my moms room and we discovered that my mom was having a seizure. To this day I wonder if my dog knew what was going to happen.

    1. That's friggin crazy Aidan!! God bless your dog and your mom. I'm with you guys about extrasensory perception in animals. My dogs would sometimes start acting nervous during the approach of a thunderstorm. The rain, thunder, and lightning wouldn't start occurring yet, but my dogs would already be hiding behind the coach. I'm not really sure how to explain phenomena like that.
