The Most Powerful Sense?

The nose, it can deliver us the sweet aroma of flowers or the putrid smell of trash, but no matter if we like it or not our sense of smell travels everywhere with us. Unlike other senses the way we describe the things we smell solely relies on the our own personal experiences. In Aroma of Righteousness she explains how it is very hard to describe what something smells like if the person hasn't smelled it before. She brings up the example of if soap smells like a rose but it is difficult to describe what rose actually smells like to anyone who has yet to experience this smell. I never realized how often I cannot describe a smell to someone who has never smelled it before, its almost impossible but after reading this I realized how often it happens.

The reason why I ask if smell is our most powerful sense is because it affects everything. It can effect your emotions, perspective, and even taste. If we were unable to smell we couldn't taste and that would just be awful. Like Green brings up in her book scents follow us everywhere and affect our day to day life.
