Memorable Moments in Smells and Bells

One memorable moment was definitely the banquet and all the good food that was passed around. The cooks did a really good job, thank you! I am a picky eater but I knew I would have regretted not trying everything. I even tried eggplant for the first time and I loved it. Another memorable moment were the discussions that were had in class. Whether it was about the presentations or guest speaker or the readings. It was nice hearing everyone's input and seeing their different perspective on things, seeing as everyone grew up differently. I also loved how JBK started off every class with the interesting questions to take down attendance. I've never had a teacher do that before so it was new and refreshing and always put me in a good mood. I've also never had a teacher have us make blogs in class so this was definitely something different but I definitely enjoyed them. I feel that the blogs and this class made me reflect a lot on my life and I realised that's something I hadn't really done before so I really enjoyed that. Life moves by so fast so it's really nice to take the time to reflect. It's a shame to hear that this class won't be taught anymore as Smells and Bells really opened my eyes to a lot of different religions and their customs. I definitely learned a lot and had a good time.

Thank You JBK!

  1. I'm so glad this was your experience with the class, and that I overheard you in BKD's office at the beginning of the semester that you were looking for a religion class, and that you decided to take Smells and Bells.
