Seeing and Appreciating

The idea that seeing something, like a person, a place or a landscape, or in Darsan: Seeing the Divine Image in India, the Sacred, and have it be transformative or spiritually/emotionally powerful is very interesting.

I would say seeing my family and pets after months of being away at school definitely makes me feel this way. I went to boarding school at 14 and so I would only be able to see my family through a screen. As I've been doing this for almost 6 years it's definitely gotten easier, but nothing beats seeing my family for the first time in months. Being in the presence of my parents, playing games with my sister and nieces, watching movies with my brother and laying on the ground with my cat and dog brings me so much joy after being away for so long.

A place that is very powerful to me is my grandparent's house as I have so many memories there. We would celebrate birthdays, special occasions, have barbeques, or just hang out there after tennis practice as it was right across the street. Coming here after missing it for months definitely makes me appreciate it more.
